Wensum at High Ash Farm ⓘ

This walk is 7.2 miles long if the leg near the river Tas and the railway is included. The Wensum Group arranged to park in the field opposite the church by agreement with High Ash Farm. The group collected donations as the permissive paths are no longer EU funded since Brexit.

Pilgrims' Launch (Booking Required - Not a Ramblers Event) ⓘ

The Earsham Benefice is preparing to launch a new ministry called Pilgrims, inspired by ‘The Via Beata’ pilgrim way and the All Hallows’ Convent in Ditchingham. The launch event, on Saturday 27th May, will begin with a simple Morning Prayer service at the All Hallows’ Convent chapel at 8.30am, followed by a day-long 12 mile walk from the Convent in Ditchingham to Great Moulton church. Here the day will conclude with a short service of blessing and thanksgiving at 4.00pm, led by the Bishop of Norwich.

Roger's funeral at the Waveney Crematorium had a full house plus 20 standing in the entrance foyer. An excellent turnout to a lovely ceremony.

Roger has a memorial plaque beside the River Waveney near North Cove. The navigate link shows the location.

DONATIONS:

Waveney Ramblers members who wish to donate money in memory of Roger, should do so by cheque made payable to "The Ramblers Association Waveney Group" and pass these to our treasurer, Mike Jeffrey, who has kindly volunteered to deal with the matter. We are planning to donate to according to the wishes of Roger's family. To identify the funds from Waveney Ramblers, the committee would prefer our donations to go via our treasurer.

Walking on Sunday July 31^st, at mile seven of ten, Roger suffered a sudden heart attack and died.

Roger was our programme manager and more recently also our membership secretary.

These tasks kept us informed and walking week after week.

We were never sent to the wrong start point!

Roger was a linchpin. This will be a hard act to follow.

Thank you Roger.

Our condolences go to his family and many friends.

Roger will be greatly missed.
